Located at an altitude of 1000 m, in Valea Doftanei commune, Traisteni village, in the north of Prahova county, 60 km from Ploiesti, the Cotu lui Epure cabin is at the meeting of two rivers with crystal clear waters: Musita and Doftana, which spring from the Baiului mountains , also called Garbova mountains. The cottage has 6 places to stay, being equipped with all utilities, decorated in a rustic fairytale style and has a superb view, being surrounded by valleys and fairytale forests. Nearby is the Glodeasa nature reserve, a secular forest protected by law, which shelters a spectacular wild fauna and flora (wild orchid species such as the ghost orchid or the butterfly orchid).

Documentarily attested in the first half of the 6th century, during the reign of Radu Paisie, also known as Petru de Valea Doftanei, the area is known for its centuries-old beech and fir forests, ecological and protected alpine pastures and rare floral species, such as wild orchid and mountain peony. Also, the area is known for cascavea, a traditional product specific to the Doftana Valley, the star of the "Cascavelai Festival", a festival that takes place annually at the beginning of September and that reminds of the simple Mioritic life and the richness of nature.
